We use this kind of product for years at home. This is the top DIY tape to patch up while waiting for parts, plug a pipe.

The Tesa tape is strong, woven fabric but cutting is still hyper easily by hand up to 1 cm thick.

The adhesive is sufficiently tacky to combine two rather heavy parts. It is easily removed. Can also reposition. In short it's expensive but it's really good.
