Although almost 1 year had elapsed since the record was released in the US you can say calms here: Better late than never ;-) Jessica Simpson, best known for her hits like "Irresistible" or "I wanna love you and at the same time star of the MTV reality soap" Newly Weds "shall, after 2 years of waiting their third Stuioalbum ago and one thing is certain: The wait was worth it. Jessica in the last 2 years a significant maturing process went through since their last LP "Irresistible" is clearly audible. Instead on there vertrettenen Darkchild R & B, the pretty blonde is at "In This Skin" more on ballads, yet it manages the album peppy and kitsch free to bring over. Among the 14 titles, of course, are also cover versions, such as "Angels" by Robbie Williams or "Take My Breath Away" from the movie Top Gun. However, I find these musical significantly weaker than the rest of the album. Up-tempo songs like "With You", which some colombian sounding "My Way Home" or LP named "In This Skin" make it fast and easy to sound, yet not embody the typical pop chart. It is also interesting "Forbidden Fruit", which invites with its Dance approaches to dance well and certainly the dancefloors would fill in clubs. But as already mentioned is the true strength of this CD in the ballads. Here, Jessica her vocal range impressively showcased but wanders not in the category of kitsch or cheap ballad from. Whether "Sweetest Sin", the slightly oriental-inspired "I have loved you" or "Be" - the songs all have their individual touch and sound by no means as mass productions. However, the special High Lites are in my opinion the tracks 9 and 10. "Underneath" is a very beautiful piano ballad that with one of their string arrangements and Jessica's beautiful voice of the highlights of the album. The dramatic "You do not have to let go" what Jess has devoted her father but in my opinion, the absolute best tracks on the CD is (definitely listen) and looks very sad and melancholic. In my opinion, Jessica Simpson has previously delivered their best with their third album, because it seems to be slowly sure where it leads away. The plate comes at the beginning is not very catchy but after repeated listening an indispensable part of the CD rack. TOPS: You do not have to let go, Underneath and Forbidden Fruit (certainly not like each but is quite interesting) FLOPS: The cover versions are likely to be weak tracks on the CD and "Loving you" does not convince me completely. Yet not all bad songs.
