After about 6 months of use, we can report the following:
The robot is stationed in the bathroom. Programming is simple and works well. The Robi runs daily lot (except Sunday) and sucks the area which we give it free with the Lighthouses. We use the Lighthouses as Virtual Wall. The robot sucks Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday only the bathroom. Here we have the litter are. The door to the bathroom is always open and is using the Lighthouse in Virtual Wall mode (pass through forbidden) versperrt.Diese task is perfectly fulfilled.
Wednesday and Friday the robot drives the entire apartment from (approximately 75m² in 5 rooms). On these days, the Lighthouse is the bathroom converted into the Lighthouse mode (must be unfortunately done manually). Now start the not so great things.
1) sometimes "jump" the Lighthouses too late and that the Robotor goes out of the bathroom, but can not go back because the Lighthouse to Robi not let through. Now travels the poor Roomba to him running out of steam.
2.) deep pile carpets do not really like the robot. Depending on the approach angle he comes up on the carpet or just unfortunately not. In dark carpets there is the problem that the robot does not it moves, because he thinks he crashes.
3.) "complicated" rooms and tables with many chairs are not a problem, but of course, the suction power is limited because the robot moves chaotic and do not know where he has been or may make even less to get between chair legs
4) cables, laces, unstable lamps etc. are dangerous. He prefers phone charger cable. The he eats and then stuck, or as also happened he tears the tablet with infected cables from the table (your own fault - no question).
In other words:
for simple tasks (drive every day from a simple field at a certain time) - nearly perfect. We get home and the bathroom is sucked perfectly normally. (Works on 9 out of 10 days)
for complex spaces with "obstacles" (carpets, chairs, cable) quite OK, but does not replace the normal vacuum cleaner. Although the need no longer be used so often then, but unfortunately yet again
Maintenance:
once a week the robot should be thoroughly cleaned. I hope for the maintenance personnel, that they have a long hair woman long hair loose household ;-) wrap around each brush, the wheels, the side brush ... So clean all parts highlighted in yellow once a week.
once a month you should do a deep cleaning. So the Roomba as far as possible to dismantle and clean really neat.
The general wear is also OK. After 6 months, changed the first side brush, else Tip-Top. For repairs I look forward to left. The structure is very simple and the most important components are to exchange good even for laymen.
Conclusion:
who believes he must never suck is here (and I think also with any other robot) wrong. I have to disappoint all bachelors who hoped the robots never having to clean.
Ideal is a household without carpets with a simple plan. Then the Roomba is a real relief.
I would not easily give up the robot, but if I would again take 500 Euro in the hand, because I'm not sure. Maybe it would do for a 200 well, or a cleaning lady, or I pull into the garden ;-)
