Suitable for data management, shortcomings in the additional functions

When LinkStation 421 is a small NAS for two hard drives, which can be operated in RAID 0 or RAID 1. Because it is delivered without hard drives, I did it with a WD Green WD30EZRX - stocked 3TB 5400RPM 64M.

The LinkStation has the following ports:

1 x RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet (rear)
1 x USB 3.0 (front)
1 x USB 2.0 (rear)
Power supply (rear)

The installation of the hard disk works fine, but I find the HDD recordings (Bays) plastic is not very practical.
The establishment of the system is very simple. The configuration is done through a website. There is a simple or advanced setting option.

The performance compared to my old ReadyNAS Duo (SPARC CPU) is much better, but the hard drive is not the fastest.
I am satisfied so far with the NAS, but my Sony TV has problems with the DLNA server. So I can record movies that are played from the ReadyNAS without difficulty, from the LinkStation not abgespielen. Unfortunately, I have not yet figured out what this is. Even if I want to watch via VLC on the PC something, it probably needs a little longer until it starts. Images will only be accepted via any DLNA. Here my old NAS is better. Even missing a Squezz Center for my Squezzbox. An SSH access to the Debian Linux worked right away.

The pure data Managing I am fully satisfied, with the additional features currently not, may bring an update improvement.
