I have the walkie talkies for my kids ordered for Christmas and tested fortunately before. Inside place (village, hardly development on the way) came to 600 m at no signal. We test it under different conditions - not better! Good handling - easy to handle - totally ok for use on a normal land or in the house - even good reception without noise. But if you specify 5km reach in town but I had expected a little more than one tenth! Have the equipment given zurückk.
