Reading the adventures of inspector Pendergast is always a pleasant distraction, but "Dance of Death" is a particularly successful episode. Second volume of the trilogy "Pendergast against his brother Diogenes" and following the "Violin Devil", we find many characters already previously encountered with such loyal assistant Lieutenant D'Agosta. Denser than the first episode and abandoning the fantastic size of previous novels, "Dance of Death" is a terrific duel between good and evil, the "class" includes psychopath and intelligence, where all shots are allowed to scramble tracks. Barely finished, only one desire: to dive in the third episode, the "Book of the dead" ...
