I have placed a digital camera via stand in front of the mirror and connected to a TV. The focus I have set manually (by no means automatic), to me was the TV, which facilitated the arming due to the front of the display of the camcorder larger screen. The exposure I fixed on 1/50, thus accounted for even the flickering of the image. The white balance was set to "light bulbs" in order to reduce the color cast.
It should be noted compared to Super 8 of substantially lower contrast ratio for video. Dark areas appear dark, bright spots too bright. So I checked the recorded image on the connected TV and via aperture (exposure must remain at 1/50), where appropriate, adjust the contrast.
It took time and practice certainly, to get me when shooting the ideal copies; the resulting video but rewarded the effort; and digitize for only about 50.00 hours some Super 8 that does not succeed when you are the strips to a professional trader. I have to invest at least not regret it!
