In many reviews the "plastic" Enclosures / bayonet is criticized.
Well, the word "plastic" we almost always as a generic term for all kinds of plastic
used. But plastic is not the same plastic! There are hundreds of different plastics,
with different mechanical, chemical and thermal properties.
Some are already being attacked by spirits, some even hold acetone and acids was.
For example, PTFE is popularly known as Teflon and a plastic of high temperatures can withstand
and is chemically very resistant. (Frying pan).
So plastic is not necessarily bad. Nickel-plated brass can, under certain circumstances
corrode. What kind of plastic used in the lenses, I do not know.
I suspect polycarbonate.
With so slight and short lenses "plastic" should therefore not be a problem.
Only with heavy telephoto lenses metal is more advantageous.
