There is not much to add to the good and bad reviews - both worlds agree absolutely, so schizophrenic that sounds. I'm just trying to relativize and classification. My first set was ordered in November 2010 - HX6932 plus second handpiece / 34th Everything was great, we had changed by Oral-B and were very, very excited about how quiet and clean the handsets work. The teeth feel afterwards to really clean. Then, unfortunately, after about 1 3/4 year the first handset was at the end - unmotivated jumped the brush at night, ran off in the bathroom and then the battery was eventually always empty. A few days later - no more reaction - dead. Do not load more possible. So Amazon contacted quickly access the contact details of Philips per response. There had very nice contact, the (yes, just the one! From the double set) promised goodwill immediately against returning the defective handsets. And really - the one handset was still, therefore submitted the defective brush and a few days later received a completely new double set. So far so good - it was 09/2012. In the meantime disposed of the second handset, because the surface was really worn and rubbed (second, typical lack of these brushes, but just good grip in hand, even when wet). Now has a few days ago (so again significantly less than 2 years!) Now adopted the same effect also the first handset of the renewed set in the same way. Again contact Philips - again very nice, but this time - no more rework! It's bitter, but of course - as the rectification control happens by law. In my frustration, I then just once opened on the subject the handset in accordance with relevant YouTube videos - and then I realized why these things as short life: they suck a water and muck. That since the electronics eventually gives up times, is actually clear. And clearly is become me - not so easy to keep the system permanently sealed. Handset always stored on the head, so that nothing can enter or possibly may leak directly again? I do not know - maybe helps. Well - what is left? Retail Therapy - this time not spend a lot of money back to an Oral-B but buy a 30 euro handset that just has a program. But hey, but from what century are these handsets? NiMH batteries generated with eternal charging time and low endurance time where Philips LiIon installed, a totally loud, rat tier system, the ears and headaches. I could not believe in the bedroom adjacent bathroom, the Oral-B Handset to make. So wrapped up and back to Amazon. And again ended up with Philips, this time a more favorable set because Reiseetui and other accessories still of the highest quality (it takes ages not :)) exists.
Total: cleaning quality and comfort while brushing are second to none. And I'm now realizing the risk that I again have to reorder under warranty if the thing 2 years ago Runtime breaks. If then a double set will be refunded - okay. In sum then to get a purchase on a term of 3-4 years - that's underground and ecologically totally beneath contempt that I know well. But I'm afraid that's when these things a systemic problem, so even with other manufacturers not so insanely much better - or knows someone advice on how to move the one hand movable pin completely sealed by a housing opening - at these speeds as sonic toothbrushes and even medically permissible and at a reasonable cost? I for myself do not know it simply.
Nevertheless, a weak rating, even though I am a repeat offender - the system itself requires a critical reflection and some engineering know-how to make this intrinsically good system slightly ecologically sound.
What I will do in the future, the guarantee period should be time survived: Handset really different camps, and regularly opening below check inside for moisture. I think the shelf life can extend it. But honestly, even that may not be the point of it.
