Now for the positives:
The burner runs on my Win 7 machine without any problems, the software suite from the enclosed disc I have not installed until the USBFast driver and the LG Toolkit (but this is meaningless, the program is looking for FW updates, but ... see above! If you really want to watch on your PC Bluray movies, even the totally overloaded CyberLink can install Sch..ße (if at all then works), the VLC Player can but meanwhile, there is no good reason a few hundred megabytes of rubbish to shovel onto the computer.
For burning I use mainly the freeware ImgBurn and blanks from various manufacturers, alsda would:
- DVD-R 4.7GB Verbatim
- DVD + R DL 8.5GB Intenso
- BD-R 25GB Xlayer
All mentioned blanks work great and are - at least over the Internet - inexpensive, I was not there a single Fehlbrennung.
I'm still a 10er Pack Xlayer buy myself 50GB, in the hope that the work.
Overall I give the burner despite the incompatibility with MediaRange 5 stars because it is otherwise an excellent instrument at a very good price.
Update: The Xlayer 50GB blanks function properly, are slightly more expensive than the MediaRange 10 pcs. about 35 EUR.
