This camera is easy to use and suitable for people who do not want to deal too deeply with the photograph itself. Or for people who have an SLR but these do not always want to carry around because of a few snapshots.
As should be clear in this camera class and price range the camera for low light is only of limited use as from ISO 400 the noise but is already clearly visible. But the problem have probably all cameras in this price segment.
The image stabilizer ensures pleasant verwachlungsfreie images even at high focal length provided of course that there is sufficient light. The large zoom range is therefore a real advantage and for little money.
Manual settings are only very little available. But who needs it when you just want to make even a few snapshots ??? And for professional images are accessed well then anyway to quality SLR.
The video function is also really OK. The focus tracking works very well and the sound when you're zoomed in during filming only subtly perceptible and as I said, the sharpness is well tracked.
The camera takes a robust solid impression.
Now a few tips for the settings:
So the "Easy Auto" (camera with a heart icon) is useful in my opinion, only in very bright light. Since in this "Simple Automatic" virtually no manual settings are possible. And the ISO Auto is not be limited. And in this setting, the camera intervenes quickly to uncomfortable high ISO values that make then the picture very quickly unusable.
That's why I recommend the "Automatic" (simple camera icon without heart) there you can limit the ISO Auto at ISO 400 which I think is very important.
From the Scene-automatics I find very useful: Once "Museum" and "Night Scene freehand".
Scene Museum: In this scene program to be shot up to 10 pictures and the sharpest of them is selected. This is called also BSS (Best Shot Selector) I find that very useful in low light, and if one can not use a flash as the museum.
Then even the "night shot freehand". it is very useful if you want to use no flash and want to make the evening such images. B. photograph a church from the outside. With this function, a series of images is shot and assembled to a better.
Conclusion:
I find this camera for this money just great and it can only recommend. Perfect for snapshots and you have to have to carry around a large zoom range without doing a lot of lenses.
So value is Top.
The Swivel Display (on and turning off) is a good size and sharp. One can very well judge on the images.
