However, we have this time opted for Philips HX 6932/34, which has won the respect of us as follows:
+ Second handpiece (in a slightly different color), very handy when one is traveling alone (and home to two at the same time clean). (Is there tlw. Even with other manufacturers)
+ Two travel cases: A hard Kill, in which a handpiece and two toothbrushes fit, as well as a soft case for the second handpiece. A travel case no longer seems to be standard or only in the most expensive model execution at every manufacturer ...
+ Two charging stations: Normal, with the box, and a small travel charger without Box
+ In the normal charging station the cable can be hidden underneath (cable reel, as our old Oral-B)
+ Easily, especially handy
+ High-quality impression (I feel well in the current Oral-B Pulsonic)
+ Looks quite good, slim, with chrome trim and rubber (we like better than Oral-B Pulsonic)
+ Storage box for 2 toothbrushes (was quite important to us, did not want the toothbrushes freestanding have); the UV light function is unimportant frippery for us. Unfortunately, there are hardly any competing models with speakers tuned, one reason why we did not use the Oral-B Pulsonic.
+ 4-step battery indicator, you can appreciate good, if / when you want to recharge the handpiece again
Neither positive nor negative points I forgive it:
o Li-Ion battery: I find really great that Li-Ion has finally arrived at the toothbrushes and has established itself as a standard. A memory effect should therefore no longer occur, and if the battery is not fully discharged and recharged always brimming, he should keep reasonably long. But unfortunately the battery is not replaceable if its capacity over time but subsides.
o UV purification: I do not need. Bin my life without long gotten along. Since I use rather mouthwash if I want to kill bacteria in the mouth ...
o Three modes (like in many other models, or similar): normal brushing, gentle brushing (I do not), massage (I do not need)
o Can be adjusted on brushing only 1 minute or 2 + 1 min clean. (I do not need)
o Color coding of the brush by rings (is so common).
o the bristles ensure a good cleaning; Sixteen expect and but I am used by Braun / Oral-B
o good cleaning results - even I would expect at a sonic toothbrush and I was so far also expect from Braun.
Not so great, I find:
- After 2 minutes, the toothbrush goes out. If I want to brush longer, I have to switch it on again. That bothers me is always something. I personally because Braun / Oral-B like better (when I had after 2 min. Get a special signal, so that I knew and could decide when I retire). [Edit July 2012: After 15 months usage, I have become so accustomed that I no longer notice it when I brush anschalte same again after 2 minutes.]
- The toothbrushes are not gummed on the back. I had read in other reviews and thought that will not bother me already. Does it, however. Honest. I'm almost at each brushing with hard plastic brush back against opposing teeth. The rattle / beating I find very unpleasant and nasty. The Sonic Complete Toothbrush Braun / Oral-B were nice rubberized (and are also available at the Pulsonic), as I have never consciously noticed it when I came back with the toothbrush against other teeth. [Edit July 2012: After 15 months use I have accustomed me something disturbing it is for me still.]
- The replacement brushes are, with all due respect, outrageously expensive. Already Oral-B was not cheap. Philips has problems but because top it. [Edit: After all, they can be quite a long use.]
- An alarming number of recent reviews on here talk about defects of Philips toothbrush. After around / over 2 years here is obviously now that Philips is quite vulnerable and a series error seems to have, and often when the warranty is still just expired also. My two handpieces are still working, but they are also only a few weeks old. How will it look like in a year or two? I am really confused here; the fear that I must dispose of two years from the Philips, is certainly available. A statement by Philips on their website I have not discovered. [Edit July 2013: So far - after 2 1/4 years - are my brushes still intact ...]
CONCLUSION: Philips HX 6932/34 convinces with its design, the features and amenities wealth. You disappoint me to some extent in practical use and in the Brush costs. It remains unclear the qualitative reliability.
