- Processing: ABUS can as always nothing to be desired. All parts are processed very clean and solid.
- Security: This castle has not the highest security level of ABUS but in ordinary "urban use" perfectly adequate. I come from Munich and had been parked the bike in different places and have never had problems.
What must not be forgotten: The polymer coating of this castle has an extremely massive. What does an additional deterrent effect with it.
- Daily use: A huge advantage of this castle is its flexibility. I wrap it, etc. without ever mounting the rod of my bicycle saddle. It keeps excellent, does not rattle and one does not notice it while driving. It also prevents the fabric sheath that make paint damage during chaining.
- Conclusion: A super ("compact") Castle for everyday use. Recommendation +++
!!! Update !!!
After over a year (almost daily) use here comes a small update:
- The fabric cover is with a rivet secured at both ends which with me after 10 months of use is pulled out on both sides.
Follow:
The polymer coating can now back on the chain and slide around -> the chain is no longer covered and can paint damage, etc. cause.
Solution:
+ Option 1: If you can sew, you can connect the ends of the polymer coating using a normal thread instead of just rivet -> Keeps again
+ Version 2: Not so nice but also very functional. Simply wrap the ends with duct tape (or an alternate tape) and thus secure at both ends.
Conclusion 2: Despite these minor defects, I recommend still on this product. The mechanics and safety can still nothing to be desired! And some signs of wear are just allowed after such intensive use
