As the PS4 appeared, I like what again looking forward to nice new Racing and after NFS: Rivals but was a big disappointment, my anticipation was to Drive Club quite large. Then it was time and the sobering first impressions kept me from buying. I have but then decided to give the game a chance, not least because of the gameplay videos recently.
First Impression:
Wow - I have been a few games for the PS4, but such a stunning first impression I had never previously. The graphics are really a feast for the eyes. The routes and its surroundings, the visual presentation of the cars before and after the race, ... a real stunner. Even the first race I experienced in a frenzy full of happiness and the peace of mind to have finally made again not bad buy. And now, after numerous races, online and offline, I can now name a few pros and cons.
Pro:
Clearly, the picture is probably with one of the highlights of the game. Alone at the sight of the cars you get immediate desire, virtually to turn some quick laps. I also like the selection of the cars very well, although of course, does not reach the extent remotely to a Gran Turismo, but it fits and can be extended with additional downloadable cars. The tracks themselves are also very nice to look at, especially since you have, for example, India found a nice change from the more common environments and the whole thing embellished with exquisite detailing along the course. Even the background music I personally like very well, is unobtrusive, but invites you to clamp behind the wheel.
Cons:
The biggest for me is not adjustable Contra (?) Difficulty. If we succeed in the first race still relatively smoothly, out down the maximum in 1-2 runs, at least I stumble after relatively quickly to my alleged limits. At the latest after the semi-pro events I have great lengths to sort me in the front third of the field, usually I drive more afterward than with. Since only certain cars are available for certain events, and this also not be improved and the difficulty can not be adjusted, do not have much choice but the race to repeat dozens of times and to memorize the route. Sure, no one wants to win blindfolded at first each race with 2 laps. Still, the whole thing - to me at least - simply too heavy.
This can be the car itself does not improve, the fact that I can not just choose basic color painting, but obviously can only create custom paint sets (the designs are in my eyes the way for me, however less a shortcoming, but all little presentable to embarrassing) .Also the fact that fame points are deducted me when someone drives me into the car, is negligible weight since you have in terms of lost points earned quickly.
Long story short; To make it even better, the good to be playing, I lack an adjustable difficulty level, which also allows it little talented drivers like me to reach the front ranks. In any case, the game is much better than its reputation promises.
