First of all:
For the price of around 10 the price-conscious customer is mostly just a neoprene case. So a keyboard, a stable and well-made bag with stand function for the Tablet PC are truly can not be beat for the price. Five stars because the shortcomings mentioned in regard to the competitive price can be tolerated.
Usage:
I bought the bag in front of a good week for my also recently acquired 7 Tablet (Ainol Novo 7 Crystal). Wanted I actually only a Tabeltaufsteller, so I do not have to keep constantly in his hand a good piece, respectively look for YouTube video, when the arms are paralyzed. An additional keyboard I suppose, in this context, like with.
Material:
So the term leather available titles is flattered and without art ;-) slightly misleading. The artificial leather of the bag is neatly stitched, grip, visually appealing, and dirt-resistant.
Processing and use:
The supports for the tab are stable, and the upper bracket has a proper spring action. As this spring effect is caused, I can only guess. I tap once on a recessed, strong elastic. By the leatherette cover the retaining clips scratching the tablet is unlikely. One of the lower retaining clips was glued a little crooked. That bothers me not so much, but looks at first glance a bit ugly. The bag closure (tab) and the stand keep well through the embedded magnets. Opens this tab can be quickly clamped behind the top edge and does not disturb further the view of the display of the tabs. The, I call him, stand work, similar to a table photo frame. To connect to a tablet, a USB connector is used (type A).
Most Tablet PC 7 will have a mini-USB jack. In my experience, standard USB ports (type A) to be installed only as from 8 Tablet PC. Would make sense, therefore, more of a mini-USB connector for the Tablet pocket was. At Amazon, I have currently only found only a supplier who has a bag with mini-USB connector on offer. Here I was, however, unsure whether the tab terminal also, as in this product, can be flexibly adjusted.
The keyboard has a QWERTY layout. Even the little buttons that are a little spongy / fixed shaky, leave little fun at scribblers arise. The pressure point of the keys is, however, felt well and the buttons are not too smooth. For short texts or for entering search terms when browsing I find the keyboard quite handy and far fewer nerve killend than typing a text on the touch screen.
Transport scratch through the keypad on the touch screen are not to be feared, because the retaining tabs for the Tablet PC act as spacers.
Shortcomings:
The strands in the right thin cables are very flexible. It is therefore likely that the cables can be torn off from the keyboard, than a cable break after extended use. Why? The connection cable is soldered to the keyboard controller but not strain-relieved. Only a drop of hot glue holding the cable firmly to the Pappinnereien. With a slightly firmer tug on the cord or USB plug can be torn from the soldering points easily the cable. All right, careful.
Even if the clamping effect is quite good, there is a risk for. Example, in a frantic motion that the tablet may slip horizontally. An optimization I can achieve platelets in the three mounting clamps with self-adhesive anti-slip (rubber).
Crafting:
(Caution warranty and the tip is no guarantee of subsequent function and accuracy !!!)
Who the warranty does not matter and who trusts on the keyboard controller around to solder, can a new cable z. B, if it breaks off times or solder to a mini-USB connector on the board. At the board easy to get to zoom. The artificial leather can be lift above the keyboard. But be careful with too much force, the artificial leather can tear at the corners. Just under three state lighting is the keyboard controller. Do not worry, the three SMD LEDs soldered directly to the board and upwards only window in leatherette are embedded. Links on the controller are soldered contacts for a mini-USB plug connection, which was not soldered. The USB cable with its four strands has, independent of their own ports, which are additionally provided with measurement points. (By the way, the cable I removed with a little jerk the controller ... ;-)
On the web includes additional connection diagrams, see for a USB contact (just google for. Example by USB port or -Steckerbelegung). The lettering is clearly labeled on the board from left to right with VCC, D, D + and GND. Who now a standard USB cable (z. B. premade with five-pin mini-USB connector type A) is now in the same order the colored strands (ie from left) red, white, green, black with a suitable soldering iron soldering. A little Pattex for cable strain relief and a second drop of the highly curved leatherette (again for straightening) and, if all went well, finished.
