After the fast delivery through Amazon I have made to the work:
Processing and accessories:
The device is slightly larger, and if one can say so too "bulky" as one in the picture suggested. However, there is total of a really small and chic device. The bottom is rubberized and the top is decorated in the finest piano finish. For the size it is pleasant "difficult". As accessories supplies Belkin each a 3.5mm jack cable to 3.5mm jack and RCA with.
Installation:
Easily. Just let the phone or the laptop Search, select and set up. When laptop (Win7) This was done all by itself. When I had to phone the pin (can be found in the instructions) and then I could hear music.
On Windows I had to change to the Belkin receiver playback of the built-in laptop speakers.
Playback Quality:
Thus, the tests remain comparable, I always put a I ripped myself at a bit rate of 320kbps of CD the same MP3 file. For reference, the reproduction of my mp3 connected directly to the amplifier and CD player serves each with the original CD and the MP3 file.
Well, there are the ghosts ....
First operation without doing anything of the matter to know (laptop with an mp3 file):
Music and speech sound very "reverberant" as if the concert hall would have an effect enabled simulated. Bass is OK, treble sound a bit thin. Readjusting the heights in the Player has no effect. As would the highs just swallowed (?).
Second Test with the mobile phone (again a mp3 file):
No more Hall but very poor sound quality. Sounds as if I have a file reproducing that was created with a very low bit rate. I can think of only "Mushy" and frayed "as an explanation a.
Since the results have failed so different had the strange sound of the nature are like the data via Bluetooth
are sent. So I informed myself first. A2DP is only the transmission protocol with which the data is sent via BT. Important for the reproduction quality, however, is the audio codec used. Standard is in the A2DP SBC encoding which Royalty free may be sold. This provides a Übetragung of up to 348kbps with 48000KHz. That's quite passable for music but the SBC coding is qualitatively inferior to the mp3 encoding. In addition, the audio signal of an mp3 file is already compressed once and is limited in the frequency band. Now, if at the BT transmission over again encodes and compresses it will come to the side effects and poor sound quality described in the first two tests. Furthermore, the SBC coding seems pretty strong to limit the heights.
Third Test with the original CD on the laptop:
Playback of CD has the consequence that not ever the quality has been curtailed by the MP3 codec. The sound is already much better but unfortunately still audible worse than direct playback.
Fourth Test with the "Toshiba BT Stack" driver for my notebook:
This driver is one of the few with A2DP BT Konfigurationsmöglichlkeiten for playback. He's probably also available so only limited time and must be purchased within 30 days. After installing the driver, I had the Belkin dongle again, and had to add a few more settings. Among other things now I could decide to extend the transmission quality of 160kbps to 320kbps. One can also hear clearly. The Hall effect is almost inaudible and the voices sound much better. You can all now call music. Unfortunately, not all my mp3 files compressed in 320kbps and at a lower rate the voices often sound distorted or differently from the original CD.
Fifth test with my phone:
After a little searching in the manual, I have found that my phone also supports the optional protocol which is apt-X for audio playback via BT in improved quality. The MP3 files are not converted as SBC sodern transferred directly. The sets display properly of course, that the opposite side dominated this Protocol and the mp3 files themselves decoded. This can of course not Belkin dongle, otherwise the price would not have probably realized.
Conclusion:
Then I broke my tests and the recipient unfortunately returned. The sound quality was not sufficient to me. While there is unfortunately almost as I hoped with the Toshiba drivers I still had no Hifiqualität and highly dependent on the source material - therefore only 2 stars. As a cable replacement you can not use it unfortunately.
