Purchase reasons for me were:
- The similarity to my very old radio (emotional reason)
- Preset buttons
- Battery operation possible
Review:
The radio has a very good reception for my liking. I can so easily listen to a station, which my old radio could not find. The sound I find very good for such a small radio. He is a bit too much bass, but which can be corrected by one of the knobs.
The look is a bit retro, which is a matter of taste. Unfortunately, the side knobs may not work as particularly dibasic. This detracts somewhat the good overall impression and leads at my rating to a Puntabzug.
I hear only the stations on the FM band. For a total of 4 preset buttons available. 1 station is tuned in via the large main wheel and contains the 3 remaining on smaller wheels, hiding something behind the unit. Minor complaint here is that there is no indication of the frequency absolutely on the small wheels. You have to hear the desired station on another radio, and then keep turning the wheels until it fits the setting so.
The power consumption seems to be pleasingly low. I operate the device with batteries. With a running time of approx 20mins a day I had not reload again. Have the unit for 2 months.
The only real gripe or reference for other buyers. The pictures belie about the actual size of the radio. It is about twice as deep as it seems in the pictures. For me it was not a problem, but who has some limited space, the size of data should look closely.
