I have very long time to decide which lens with longer focal length I anschaffe me in addition to the kit Obektiv (18-105mm). Actually, a focal length of 200mm would have been enough, so I have 55-300mm due to the very positven reviews next to the Nikkor also ordered the 55-200mm. After the Nikkor 55-200mm was previously delivered a day, I could deal first with this lens closer. I was a little disappointed because it hardly reaches me to make nearly sharp images, as I was living with my 18-105mm (by the way very good). At first I thought ichh would "VR mode" is not switched to the lens. But he was (unfortunately) on. With sufficient light (daylight), the images were sharp. Otherwise rather less. The autofocus is very fast and precise, but not the work by the image stabilizer, I think. Otherwise, processing is ok despite plastic. The following day the Nikkor 55-300mm arrived and I was immediately excited when unpacking how valent (metal bayonet) and considerably heavier than the 55-200 but it works. The pictures with this lens were used sharp and the image stabilizer was doing the usual work of mine a Nikonobjekivs. Even at 300mm focal length, the photos were super sharp. For me, the decision was quickly determined to return the 55-200mm again and to keep the (in my opinion) much better 55-300mm. Probably the Image Stabilizer of the new generation (VR2) is quite a bit better than the previous one. The difference for me was very clear.
