In the following I would like to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the S120, in my view short:
+ Visually very high sharpness of images in normal daylight situations
+ At high ISO values (in available-light area) can get very good results are achieved
+ Very compact dimensions
+ High level of photographic influence (aperture and shutter-priority, manual control)
+ Creation of RAW files possible (is used only occasionally by me)
+ Intuitive operation (by my experience so far with Canon cameras I have this course benefits)
+ Pleasant handling (good haptic)
+ Very fast focusing (very beneficial in sports and animal photography)
+ Good illumination by the flash - even at wide angle (especially important in rooms)
+ Practical zoom range (KB-analog: 24-120 mm)
+ Fast lens speed of 1: 1.8 (at 24 mm)
+ Full HD video possible (as MP4 files!)
+ Very high-quality finish of the housing
- The battery is flat relatively quickly (compared to the S95); it is advisable - especially when traveling - to have a charged spare battery with you!
Overall, the S120 is a very good recommendation for ambitious photographers who attach great importance to the following:
1. Compactness
2. High quality recording
3. high level of photographic influence
