Unfortunately true description of the item not work because this does not change the existing threaded via spring. That would not be tragic, although not in the stand's own description of the way would be described.
In fact, the thread has to be changed relatively burdensome on the use of the Allen key supplied. Namely, by a screw between the mounting plate and the wrist strap. The loop must be rotated according to the screw to make visible.
I am also just stumbled upon a review in which this process is very well described.
This is done as follows:
To switch from 3/8 "to 1/4" to the screw must be turned over. For this, the small Allen screw under the plate loosen then unscrew the plate (between plate and wrist strap). Turn camera Schaube and fix the plate again - with a small Allen screw.
But you should see the positive also. Because 1 is the question how often you change the needs and 2. This can be as well not wear, what with such a spring variant but can happen.
