I was looking for a high-quality replacement for my headset in order to play to 90% on the PC, but also sometimes to listen to music on the system, or watch TV. Once my copy of Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro had a cracking bass and my headset to sold separately Gear microphone sounded too dull, I've decided to another Hi-Fi headphones equip itself with a Antlion ModMic microphone. After I tested the Custom One Pro, I already knew that a closed headphone comes in no case in question for me. Since I could no longer hear me with the closed headphones, I found it very difficult to talk with my friends via TeamSpeak in a "normal" volume. I would also like to play yet remain responsive even when outside. So it should be an open or semi-open headphones. Nevertheless, was already the Custom One Pro is an impressive experience. For me the choice was now between the DT-990 Edition (open) and the DT-880 (semi-open). Tests on these two headphones and their differences one finds enough. But you have it then but even hear yourself. The DT-990 seemed to me at the high tones partly too much. Here is more pointed in customer reviews on the hissing at high frequencies. Otherwise it sounds the DT-880 is very similar. In BF4 but so many antagonistic shot has me almost torn on me the eardrum. Therefore, the DT-990 decreased. The DT-880, however, is really a dream of neutrality. Everything sounds so balanced and rich in detail, I can describe it hardly. I run the 250 ohm model to a Sound Blaster sound card Z (has a headphone amplifier). Clicking SBX and the soundcard ballert the frequencies upwards that is one dizzy. When playing the DT-880 is the absolute fun machine. The location in games I think is excellent. While listening to music I disable then SBX again and listen to the music as it is probably the sound engineer has mixed in the studio. When I then but need a little more pep I turn on the Equalizer Sound Blaster and give the DT-880 a bathtub vote as it has the DT-990. What also should be mentioned is the excellent workmanship and the comfort of the headphones.
The Antlion ModMic can be reattached to the outer gate of the headphone. If it is set up correctly it can then also be easily tilted upwards without which it proposes to the bracket of the headphones. Because headphone and microphone cable, both 3 meters long are I've packed in a cable sleeve and fixed with Schrumfschläuchen. The whole now looks almost like out of the store and is, both in terms of sound quality and workmanship and comfort, any headset I've been obsessed streets ahead.
