So great and exciting I found the first episodes of the series, I was convinced that the book would not grab me. Stories about politics and war are none that I otherwise read and also high fantasy rarely part of my Beuteschema. Then no matter how a fat tome in which the only way to fly one the names of the many people around the ears were the perfect foundation for a book that I would never stop for me.
And then everything changed '
I'm always a fan of changing narrative perspectives have been if you get a story not only tells of a person and is limited to their whereabouts, but if you can read a lot of small part stories mixed up. Although I had initially feared that I would be but a little overwhelming and confusing in A Game of Thrones, the amount then, but that was not the case.
Instead, exactly identified for me most of the tension, since like to abort the narrative of a person in an exciting place and we once again wait / read awhile needs until you can go back to exactly this person.
Sometimes I found exactly though again also rather poor because the wait times so dragged on, that I was, as I have so feverishly out almost forgotten again, it mostly made but that I always faster wanted to read the book and hardly wanted to put out of his hands.
I was surprised also by the characters themselves. It is true that on such a lot of pages certainly plenty of room for character development and depth of their character traits, but with such an amount of people that you get to know all the details, I was surprised at how many to get as close zoom.
Pleased I am also pleased that it really only one person was whose narrative strands I did not like and which annoyed me thoroughly. However, I was a little disappointed that my two favorite characters rather less often had their say.
I still can not really say what has actually so captivated me exactly on this book, because it deals with a topic that otherwise does not interest me, I put the time in large part to the writing style of George RR Martin , There are places in this book, that you may or good cook cut would at least not have to describe in such details, but as he describes it conveys and so I found myself this is not boring or superfluous and simply could not get enough.
I was surprised then by the end, because I had long wondered how he wants to get now to the series without leaving the reader so completely in the air. I would indeed prefer equal resorted to the second volume, but that was due less to a nasty end when the full story, of which I could not get enough.
George RR Martin has grabbed me with this very compelling story not only in itself and a great desire on the other volumes made, he especially would enjoy in high fantasy made me a genre which I give far too little attention.
