The switch itself is great, as others have also been rezessiert.
- Absolutely silent (passive + clean electronics, no buzzing or whistling)
- No increased latency detected by the Switch
- Really chic, durable metal case
So good is the switch, so bad is the included power supply - at least as of June and July 2012 Design.
I now have my third device, with all the same problem: the power supply whistles and chirps like there's no tomorrow ...
I have returned as defective, the first delivery, the second also went back - then Amazon has a 2 weeks taken to check the stock - now the third replenishment - unfortunately without any improvement.
Normally, these would go back - but I have enough power supplies from other switch devices left.
And lo and behold - it is also absolutely silent.
Too bad that you can save on such components, especially since you can not buy without NT to switch ...
The supplied NT is a no-name netgear isolate labeled unit, 12V at 1.5A.
Currently the switch depends on nem "amigo on-0751000v" - which has 7,5Volt 1A.
However, the switch draws only 6-8 Watts at 12 Volt - and since the NTs to regulate itself eh runs all at 12V and 6-8 watt consumption so far without any problems - and especially noiseless ...
