Hello, Unfortunately, the 1200+ adapters are a significant deterioration compared to the 650+ adapters also with me.
I sit for years the adapter for the 200 generation, and had always experienced from 200 to 500 and from 500 to 650+ good performance. From the 500s to the 650+ adapters adapters, the performance increase was as high as 50% even if only an increase in performance was promoted by theoretical 30%.
Well, all that should deal with WLAN or DLAN know that the theoretical values are on the packages probably only achievable under laboratory conditions. All thing you should be able to assume that the 1200+ Adapter already bring a significant increase in performance in relation to the 650+ adapters, even if one is not likely to expect the advertised 100%.
I connected a 10 year old (young) house, are equipped with an electricity meter and all the adapters according to manufacturer specifications.
Direct communication with the adapters 650 gave the following results (Devolo Cockpit):
DL_Router to DL_WZ: 650+: 341 Mbit / s | 1200+: 291 Mbit / s
DL_Router to DL_Tom: 650+: 265 Mbit / s | 1200+: 181 Mbit / s
DL_WZ to DL_Tom: 650+: 153 Mbit / s | 1200+: 6 Mbit / s
DL_WZ to DL_Router: 650+: 290 Mbit / s | 1200+: 397 Mbit / s
DL_Tom to DL_Router: 650+: 178 Mbit / s | 1200+: 59 Mbit / s
DL_Tom to DL_WZ: 650+: 143 Mbit / s | 1200+: 78 Mbit / s
Add to this that in the 650s adapters net data Duch sentence shrank by about 10%, if I had turned on the television. The 1200ern adapters but the net data throughput collapses by about 40%.
During a data transfer with the 650 adapters (DL_Router to DL_WZ) in Network Monitor was seen always a fairly constant line of data transfer rate.
In the 1200s, however, the display adapters always jumps down from the maximum power to the 0-point and the copy process then breaks usually after a certain time.
Anyway, seems to be used with the 1200+ adapters a new technical method that at least does not work everywhere reliably.
I very much hope that Devolo that gets in the future under control.
But what in any event is a sham, is the suggested performance increase of nearly 100% in relation to the 650+ adapters.
### Services for firmware update 2.0.0.03-3: ###
DL_Router to DL_WZ: 650+: 341 Mbit / s | 1200+: 351 Mbit / s
DL_Router to DL_Tom: 650+: 265 Mbit / s | 1200+: 318 Mbit / s
DL_WZ to DL_Tom: 650+: 153 Mbit / s | 1200+: 43 Mbit / s
DL_WZ to DL_Router: 650+: 290 Mbit / s | 1200+: 337 Mbit / s
DL_Tom to DL_Router: 650+: 178 Mbit / s | 1200+: 334 Mbit / s
DL_Tom to DL_WZ: 650+: 143 Mbit / s | 1200+: 39 Mbit / s
So, after the firmware update, I must say that the connections are now stable.
Even under load (data copy) the compounds are stable and there be no more crashes.
The above listed values sin fluctuating, depending on whether and which current loads are switched on.
The performance has only slightly improved in relation to 650+ adapter. With the exception of a connection (round trip) which substantially continues to have less performance than the 650+ adapters. (DL_Tom / DL_WZ / DL_Tom)
Also, the loss of performance of the net data throughput has now reduced (a data copying from PC to PC) after turning on the TV from about 40% to about 10%. (As in the 650+ adapters)
- If you switch for the first time used the 1200+ adapter or of older generations (before 650+), which will be generally satisfied with the performance of the adapter, because he can not draw any comparisons.
- Those who already have the 650+ adapters, for which a switch is not worth more. But again, let me say that bringing the possible current-noise sources in a house with any other requirement with them and thus can lead to a different conclusion.
- As before, however, remains to be said that the suggested power increase of almost 100%, is not given to the 650+ adapters, in reality.
- Since the 1200+ Adapter Now -for betrachtet- work well, I increase of a 4 stars.
- All ads by devolo cockpit I have also compared by copy operations and net data throughput measurements.
- All the above values are intended to show only the relationship under exactly the same conditions, to the 650+ adapters.
- In principle, you have to know that all switched power consumers, always pull on the power lines between the adapters, the performance in the cellar. How much this is, probably depends inter alia on the quality of power supplies used in the devices.
- Also, we should connect all consumers, in the immediate vicinity of the adapter, always on the loop-through socket of the adapter and make the use of power strips on a little quality.
- Possibly other existing outlets next to the adapter should not be used directly to. (See devolo recommendations)
