The G2 was a great camera. Small, fast, and she made to ISO800 (ISO1600 rushes on, but to get to grips with) excellent photos.
My expectations were übertoffen of the G5 far. The autofocus is very fast (loosely holds a DSLR with). This camera is fully compatible snapshot, as I have never experienced before. Highlight is the electronic viewfinder, which impresses with the high resolution. In normal light, he works just as well as an optical viewfinder of a DSLR, in darkness, he acts as a kind of "intensifier", which certainly facilitates the work.
The image quality in spite of the higher number of pixels (and therefore per pixel smaller photosensitive surfaces) much better than the G2. Without limiting pictures with ISO1600 are possible.
However, the included kit lens (14-42mm / f3.5-4.0) is inappropriate for this excellent body. Shortly thereafter, I 12-35mm f2.8 made my (expensive) Lumix GX Vario. Now I see only the full potential of this camera. With the Lumix G Vario 45-200mm f4.0-5.6 I round the package then from (telephoto shots I do rarely, so I can save the expensive GX Vario 35-100mm f2.8).
It is only a matter of time before the system cameras can keep up without restrictions with DSLR's. For me, the purchase is definitely worth it.
