Previously had the Garmin FR 205 with unstable GPS. Then the FR 305, with which I was very happy, but it is now unfortunately defective. Had I added myself again, but no longer to have new. So I started looking for an alternative. The 310er is overcharged me personally too large and functional. The other guys have not read displays for me during running without glasses and are sometimes too costly in relation to the used by me functionality. The functions that I use regularly are, running distance measurement, timing, lap pace, time, and occasionally heart rate. As recorded values are for me even lap times and the GPS Tracks (in SportTracks and in Google Earth displayed) important. Of course, I've also played individual cases like the 305er with site storage and distance indicator, Goto start function and the new courses; But I need not really. And loaded on the unit training requirements, I have never worked.
With the exception of the pulse frequency, whose display is unfortunately not upgradeable, the FR10 offers all the desired features of mine, as described above. With 2-changing high-contrast display, which each provide 2 selected values in wonderful large digits and an additional 3 Display of time and date I am while walking due to the excellent readability off even better than the 305er.
The 10s also offers rudimentary training preset functions that I did not use. Even a couple of best values as fastest kilometers / 5km / 10km, fastest mile, longest distance are permanently stored (until the conscious deletion) on the clock.
The GPS tracking seems slightly inaccurate to work as the Intelli-recording at 305; but the deviations stay in insignificant for me boundaries. The walkways are clearly traceable in the map data on the PC. The accuracy of the measured values is good. Failures there was previously no (10 runs partly by dense forest); Start standby is m. E. given faster than the 305th
Regular recharging via the included USB cable is called for, because the battery capacity only for max. 5 hours activity or Estimation four weeks time / date display (displayed permanently) ranges. A 220-volt USB power adapter is not included, but who has no such thing anyway at home.
The FR 10 is replaced by me a strong buy recommendation with the following tip: If it fails only on the lack of pulse measurement, I recommend an additional inexpensive heart rate monitor on the other wrist.
