In many reviews one finds the statement that the mouse (G500) sporadically times fails, particularly uncomfortable when playing as Counter Strike, COD etc.
For me, the G500 was after 9 months dropouts or stuttering that I could not explain now. After another month before this came every 4-5 minutes, so that I (with conditions) could take in Snspruch warranty.
I got a brand new G500 and was satisfied. Now again after one year I have the same problems. The mouse is made, or has "stuttering" or as we also say: The G500 depends.
I have decided to pursue. It is noteworthy, first, that if the mouse has said problem, the entire electronic system fails. I thought for the time being, it would be before a driver issue, but it was not like that.
I then took the G500 apart. A total of 5 screws are installed, which hold the upper and lower cases. But you have to take off the plastic tabs on the mouse to get to the screws.
2 screws are located at the foot-plate
1 screw on the right small flap
1 screw on the upper flap
1 screw under the G500 label (one would not suspect, so well hidden)
Overall fit and finish seems not high, it seems that a lot of China built stuff. When you lift one should be a little careful because the thumb buttons connection and LED connection are relatively short.
After a back and forth tüffteln little I have the cause of the problem found. The mouse cable has come pinched in the front, that due to the natural mouse movements over time, the inner cables are cut. A little back and forth to move the cable at this point confirmed the problem. When squeezing the electronics ran flawlessly, take out the little mouse went off (no power).
I therefore had to first separate the cable sheath, then remove the actual Pastik the cable. When Abntrennen normal Pastikkabels one realizes that a Aluabschirmung exists. However, this overall jacketed and not individually.
Inside the thick black cable running 4 very thin cables (red, green, white and black).
You could find that a proper connection was no longer available. Hence all individual cables needed to be also separated from the shell by hand and the silver or steel mesh (attention no copper!) Be connected manually.
The problem is that the breaking point is so close to the electronics on it that you can not come without disassembling it. Furthermore, it is Tricky, after you have the cable repaired fool in the appropriate wiring. Again it can be seen that the cable is squeezed violently.
After assembly, we have again a problem. The plastic tabs, which may have actually allows a relatively pleasant gliding not as original straight and smooth install, since they indicate once facilitated by the bends. At the site of the flap lever a bulge is by raising then present that is no longer even wegzukriegen.
The result: the mouse scratching violently at Mouse. The NOISE are as if you scratch with your fingernail on the mouse pad. As you might think that you sawed something. Extremly noisy and no clean slide more.
From the fact that a deliberate breaking point by Logitech has been installed, but employing a little too early (within the 3-year warranty), as well as the bad Verarbeitugnsqualität I advise against the purchase of overpriced G500. This will take you off flutes 100% even within the first year (in games like Counter Strike) or within 2 years (during normal working use as surfing and ähmlichem).
