In this first installment of the tetralogy From the cycle of the Old Future Denis Duclos narrates the adventures of a lively and fearless French traveler, Augustine CORIAC. This young explorer, once arrived on the main island of the archipelago thanks to the talents of an Indian captain and his young foam previously encountered near the coasts of Guyana, will soon know Phial OF Atoy of Parinofle, the lord of the small town of midway. The two men quickly bind a strong friendship adventure that will take them into adventures, both monitoring their faithful companions. This merry band will head to the capital island of the archipelago avoiding traps and other surprises caused by local people actively involved in politics. Longwor, Archipelago World mixes in a very successful way to political action, the balance being perfect, the player will not get bored at any time, and immersed himself completely stunned in the strange and complex world designed by Denis Duclos.
However, I find it regrettable that this "balance" is not as "perfect" in Volume 2 Trial of Islands. Indeed, the author gives way to politics in two thirds of the book, the remaining third being devoted to adventure, no less thrilling than the first volume of the two heroes. It is obvious that the political aspect of the text introduces the adventures and enlightens the reader on the meaning of the book. But in my opinion, it is unfortunate that this facet of the story, which defines only a background, take such a large space. Nevertheless I look forward to reading the next two album (which will be in my possession within a week). I would not fail to make a small criticism once completed my reading of this tetralogy.
