"Factual examination"
Eddie Vedder times very quiet and extremely emotional. It is offered a simple music in the style of the singer / songwriter. Here with a focus on freedom, desire and country often like permeated with a slight Hall. All a bit in the style of Mr. Gordon Lightfoot, only a quiet and contemplative. With this implementation, the music is the film more than justice and underlines his statement (in my view) sustainably.
What offers Eddie here there have been in approaches to Pearl Jam. The pithy men from Seattle to thresh not just straight on (thankfully), but also dominate masterfully the quiet sounds (example: Nothingman from Vitalogy or Indifference of the Vs.). Eddie Vedder proves here that he is obviously at Pearl Jam spiritual father of this quiet tones, and these now recites not only an extremely pleasant way, but primarily and decisively authentic.
Then occurs at the end of the album ATTENTION SPOILER also (once again) a meanwhile overused for my taste Joke, in which you play the last song, him and thus the album closes quasi, the album but not completed, but the player is instructive turn minutes and finally (only hummed and not sung) with another unnamed song or as here with an alternate version of a kind of surprising and often adding special showcase.
"Emotional consideration"
It just blows me away. It is this rare music that provides goosebumps. It is this music, when you get the famous Klos in the neck. In particular, the song no. 5 (Long Nights), no. 8 (Society), which unfortunately far too short no. 9 (The Wolf), and especially the high-flyer Nr. 7 (Hard Sun), go through the ear canal, as if Christmas and Easter falling in one day.
Eddie here quoted Hard Sun by Gordon Peterson Indio Big Harvest, is threefold valuable. On the one hand this album of Gordon Peterson is known apparently and unfortunately only to insiders. It was at that time promoted very limited and distributed. It is therefore quite perished in the mass of publications. Here this album produced in 1989 must be regarded as a true and precious masterpiece that has unfortunately not found a successor. Gordon Peterson is (unfortunately) not or no longer have appeared before and after the project. By Eddie infusion a respectful bow and a renewed focus will take place here.
On the other was specifically with Hard Sun one of those rare things (here song), in which one wonders how there can be anything such Ingenious ever.
And ultimately Eddie Vedder gave his sensibility that cover a fine cut and a healthy unobtrusive bite. Through his voice and the use of electric guitar especially towards the end of the song a hearty and tasty contrast has emerged from the original. Overall, just very very nice.
"Concluding remarks"
Even after deep plunge into the truly versatile and contrasting musical genres I can not imagine (except for blind Hardchorefans) that this (too short) showpiece is without prejudice to a / n listener / in! If then the substantive discussion takes place (considering the film), but each one can be found at any point not only back, but is, as has been said, deeply touched
What is presented here is not only talented but ingenious, is the thoughtful and more than ever feeling Stressed musical interpretation that (at least for me) to an exceptional musician / musicians exception makes / make an Eddie Vedder / Pearl Jam. Especially in comparison to the mainstream pabulum that is offered to us in the middle-class entertainment radio, with its industrial production, with the Dancefloor superficialities, the pseudo singer-songwriters, the oh-so-sweet girls who tell with sweet voice of their major problems or even the world want to save to the exception Art New Findern a la Lady Gaga (who as a human being really quite OK), it is clear with this album / Eddie Vedder / with Pearl Jam, that there perhaps just small, but all the more are subtle differences that a music consumers to music lovers will be.
This album gets my recommendation wholly-owned and thus rarely awarded by me 5 stars!
Addendum:
It should be noted that it is not here to the full soundtrack to the film. There are only the pieces available, which are played directly by Eddie Vedder. Thus, it is also a quasi solo album of Eddie.
This is a bit unfortunate because the rest of the music of the film (Instrumentals) is very impressive. This includes a further variant of the aforementioned Hard Sun, which, significantly, is played with the ending of the film, and again underlines to what this is for an exceptional composition. A more appropriate choice could hardly have taken. Perhaps it is but still give out a special edition. It would be so desirable!
