I'm pretty pissed, but already I had in the last two years similar experience with Geox (sneaker), Timberland (Earthkeepers) and DrMartens make (Goucho). In all cases considered the shoes (mind you, not in day in day use!) Just a season before serious deficiencies occurred. And, in all cases, I was surprised that the violators will be probably made now in China. Especially with the Geox and Martens I was quite flabbergasted. As for the Ecco sneakers, now have at least chic garden shoes for around 100 EUR. Also the purchasing from a retailer has me here nothing geholfen- I almost suspect that a Buy from Amazon to kulanteren settlement could result.
Pro:
- Stylish design, comfortable, quite airy
Cons:
- Not just with me, but lasting for 1-2 weeks, pungent plastic odor (..? Mglw adhesives, possibly by summer temperatures), continuing until today, after 3 months have become sole inside loose or brittle (= the familiar, loud! , embarrassing! squeaks upon the occurrence), complaint quasi impossible lt. sinnlos- seller also because there is not probably something like a funktioierenden Service at Ecco. Thematically Interresierten are advised to google on the internet once to 'Ecco' and 'squeaky'; o). The tips in various forums to resolve the Quitschens are quite touching.
Overall impression:
- Before and during purchase a real eye-catcher, but turns out to be at once as Übl (I) e chinaware with a limited shelf life, inferior materials and workmanship. What as I said but not immediately apparent (or nose) stands, but possibly be. Later shows when worn. For me at least this was so. By keeping older Ecco shoes next to it, one wonders where today actually still the difference between 'Marken'-ware and their (illegal) fakes can be found. Apart from the price, of course.
Conclusion:
- Hands off. Actually fodder for the ton, alone wg. the frustration. And after 3.4 months! But as mentioned für'n garden are to use the sneaker still good ... noise and smell could also prove to be effective against all kinds of pests.
