I think the idea is daring to think of an animal, and grant him a sustained level of language to hear in his pride and majestic character. However this sometimes makes it very accessible text, which is also the case of "recitations on life" that form a sort of bill of rights and duties of conscious living. Convoluted formulas actually remind us of the texts of laws.
This book often reminded me of The Gull Jonathan Livingston, it seems to me that there Chamoiseau make a wink. I feel very close to the vision made and I was able to find many things to improve and especially to name the concepts that had confused me. My regrets were that I had not felt completely immersed, the malfini the story sometimes uses too many human concepts, thought I liked a more searched universe.
Other than that I am a recent convert to the horizontal fullness.
