Customer Review

... Bobby Ray, aka BoB finally returns us to some very remarkable mixtapes now his first solo album, entitled "The Adventures of Bobby Ray".
The newcomers from Atlanta it understands not only good to write lyrics but also to combine this with still (partly self-produced) unique beats and shuns the possibility to pick up the instrument by no means automatic. Be it the piano or the guitar, this man mastered as well as his voice. For this reason I would Bobby Ray Simmons designate not as a rapper but as a musician - he does the secret nickname "Andre 1500" it all, because he really comes across as a small version of the Grand Outkast Members.
Before I dedicate the album:
1. I had to get used to the new sound and find the album only after repeated listening really well.
2. this music is not mindless mainstream gangster music, but creative, varied and innovative.

But now As mentioned before the album itself. Originate some beats from his own hand, he was additionally supported by Jim Jonsin, The Smeezingtons, Crada more. High-profile feature guests can also have the album, among them: Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Hayley Wiliams (Paramore) and TI
It begins with "Do not Let Me Fall", which was produced by Bob himself. The interplay between the instruments fits perfectly here, and no later than when using the guitar you're a fan of the first track, which can also convince in terms Lyriks. "So here I go BOB, Bobby Ray, I do not know, need I know / But I know, That I float, Rack em up Knock em down, Dominos" lines like this, together with his voice and a self of him sung chorus show a taste of the 11 other tracks. A good start to the album.
It continues with the first single "Nothing On You", which has already cleared properly in the USA. While Bruno Mars offers us a marvelous chorus here, Bobby Ray, with passages like "And so I lost more than I had ever won / And honestly, I ended up with none" can be a really good and also the Last Bridge. If this song does not strikes in Germany, then something must be wrong in this country.
"Past My Shades" along with Lupe Fiasco goes to the first two tracks, unfortunately, a little below, although here again can find a good track.
The second single "Airplanes" is perhaps even greater than "Nohing On You". Here one of the chorus singer of Paramore, Hayley Williams really gets under your skin. Even though the chorus probably provides the reason for the class of this song, the lyrical genius of BoB should never forget ("Yeah, I could use a dream or a genie or a wish / To go back to a place much simpler than this" )
At the latest after this song is a clear that Bob will be one of the next really big.
TI, in his label boss of BoB can be here together with fellow Playboy Tre on "Bet I" of course never miss the opportunity to support his protégé. Unfortunately, these are the weakest track on the album, which is very heavily based on the remaining music from Atlanta and in my opinion does not really fit to Bobby. Too Bad.
For BoB gained with the next track back to the previous quality. "Ghost in the Machine" is the second self-produced track, is definitely the strongest (if not the strongest) of its debut. To beat: the song starts slow and fairly quiet, with piano accompaniment. Then put a guitar and futuristic sounds before the song with the refrain starts properly. Mention should also be the short break after each chorus, this contributes significantly to the mood namely the complete track with. The text is as already used at a high level "So I grave my bags and go, as far away as I can go / Cause everything is not what I used to know" "You say I look fine, if only you knew what's on my mind ".
Some life joyful it goes with "The Kids" with Janelle Monae on. Another track, showing the diversity of BoB. Janelle gives more electrically tinged track quite perönliche note.
Rockig it goes up to the "Magic" titled song with Rivers Cuomo (a part of the band Weezer). Electric guitar paired with electric Beat spread definitely good mood and show incidentally also, that you can combine hip-hop well with other styles of music. Again, our newcomer is not afraid his listeners intelligent ("Well take a journey into my mind / You'll see why it's venom I rhyme") and amusing ("I break all the rules like Evel Knievel / It's a spectacular show, ' cause my heart pumps diesel ") texts to cut around the ears.
The next track "Fame" is again slower and more relaxed and so provides good relief after "Magic", but can not convince entirely. One of the weaker tracks.
With "Lovelier Than You" Bobby Ray suggests a quite different direction. Here you get to hear a quiet audible beat, the BoB but fits surprisingly well. Very nice track.
In "5th Dimension" do we get to hear a strange beat, but after some time can be described as good beat thoroughly. Very versatile and contributes to the variety on the album.
"Airplanes (the second) Part 2" forms a worthy conclusion to the album and takes the track "Airplanes" one more time (with minimally altered Beat) on, but this time with the support of Eminem. The second hearing is the tragedy that lies in this song again to the fore and you are not sure whether the song should come across as sad or joyful.

As a conclusion it can be said that Bobby Ray (Simmons) aka BoB is a promising newcomer. It shows that hip-hop is more than just dull, bass backed beats. On the contrary, he shows that it sounds really good if you let flow the influence of 'outside' in this music.
The album itself is very varied and brings new elements with them. Especially tracks like 'Do not Let Me Fall "," Ghost in the Machine', 'Magic' and 'Lovelier Than You' bring a measure of variety in this album, as I have heard it often before.
This Artist is an innovation for black music and needs support.
