The anger is still there

Following their brilliant debut "Rage Against The Machine" from 1992 and the rather lukewarm successor "Evil Empire" from 1996 Rage Against The Machine were swept two years later with a bombastic album on the scene back in that throughout the alternative genre has no equal. "The Battle of LA" fits seamlessly in construction in the series of albums a RATM. With "Testify" is already as it was on the first album ("Bomb Track") a huge (and especially fast) opener about to be played at the time strongly again with ingenious effects. After a transition to slightly punky "Guerillia Radio" the gambler still should know from the THPS series. Followed by Gittarren- and Effecktlastigen "Calm Like A Bomb" (known from The Matrix Reloaded) that is strongly reminiscent of "Wake Up". Here Tom Morello shows once again what he's got. Zack pulls in "Mic Check" by proving in this little guitar technically slower song that he has not yet lost the fast rhymes. The chorus is a catchy tune and the impression given immediately. After that it gets back quickly, rocking and fucking crazy. "Sleep Now In The Fire" an absolute party hit with brilliant guitar and a speed is the "Testify" surpasses. This track is just awesome and almost the best track and the highlight of the album. Well on "Killing In The Name Of" He comes not ran, but he is really damn good. Unfortunately Rage can (as so often) do not maintain their high brilliant initial level. After "Born of A Broken Man", "Born As Ghosts" and "Maria" the album drifts slowly into Ordinary from (which is still more is at RATM as with most other alternative bands). From the last third then Währe only "War Within A Breath" special mention. A masterpiece of the duo Rocha / Morello.
Conclusion: RATM remain her by "Evil Empire" weakened tradition faithfully and set again a hammer-album. All tracks are worth listening to anyway. And the songs are 1-5 anyway awesome! What to say except BUY, BUY, BUY at this price. Damn hot crossover disc from a band that not for nothing was a legend!
