By cons I am more doubtful about his compositions. Often compared his music to Erik Satie but I think it is the master of Arcueil that Michel Delpech is the Beatles.
Danish is not hidden to the minimalism, but this would not prevent a little more richness and fantasy. For an album calling itself "Philarmonics" I just found quite poor sometimes even boring harmonies, reminiscent often, alas, Yann Tiersen (Philip Glass to be less nasty). Rhythmic level, Agnes Obel not seem to be a fan of the dotted eighth, his piano accompaniments often verge asceticism and all this lack for my taste a hint of romance (but I think this is totally wanted).
Unlike some commentators, I have not found the sound bad. Perhaps it is a little piano recorded lo-fi, but it's certainly a deliberate choice to give a childish atmosphere and better highlight the song.
Without being a masterpiece, the album nevertheless showed great originality, but it requires several listenings to become thoroughly familiar with the poetic universe of Danish.
