The story is set nine years after contact. The covenants are continuing their work to eradicate the human species, one at a glass forming the outer colonies. Survivors in combat zones have found refuge in the asteroids they have developed. They even manage to trade with certain covenants. But what do they really want to recover from the coordinates of the land and home colonies? Between civilians and insurgents, Lieutenant Keyes, assigned aboard Midsummer Night in running mission will be challenged to unravel the story and enact the Cole Protocol, namely the removal of any information that could lead to the Earth. And that is not counting on a small team of Spartans deep infiltration and dissension among elites Covenant.
While significantly better than the previous game, the series for me sessouffle, or at least my attraction for her. In those ordering books, the story ultimately counts more than the characters that are always somewhat flown, but why bother? Nothing new under the sun of Halo. A story where the action remains steady but no real flavor without real issue. It's entertaining but nothing more. This is the typical novel he must take to the beach, whatever it takes water or sand, you never reread it anyway.
There are still translate volumes, including a trilogy of K. Traviss, but I think I'll stop there.
