I'm long-time Star Wars role-players. If only our last campaign employed us about five years and led my group of players from one end of the galaxy to the other. We played the Saga Edition. After several forays into other worlds and games we have recently returned to Star Wars - this time with Edge of the Empire. And after some initial familiarization difficulties we have a lot of fun with the system. The classes and talent trees are very varied and motivating to play and the narrative cube system proved to be a hit. I love that every throw, whether successful or not, can now have positive or negative side effects. This makes the game tremendously exciting, it adds to the dice roll an added dimension. Even routine throws so tickle the nerves and leads to unexpected situations and scenes that stir up all the action and provide plenty of variety. However, you need first need time to adjust, since the dice no numbers, but icons show. You also have to learn to interpret the symbols in the context of the game scene. But again, practice makes perfect. We have had the hang of it after a handful of rounds. While it still takes a little longer than, for example to play off a fight in other systems, but it is never boring. Is it worth? Quite clear: Yes! Edge of the Empire's great and will certainly occupy us the 5 years;)
