With respect to the grip I find the MHG-XT L significantly better and the three middle fingers find more grip when carrying the camera. It also allows me the camera very nearly grab and use in accordance with the photographing stable. The feeling a DSLR to hold in your hand is the front very well achieved by a handle, and you do not have such a "fiddly" impression that a camera from slipping if necessary.
The second (or even third) battery is of course nothing to do but you have to have the spare batteries in your pocket / backpack. Also on the vertical shutter release will be without one accordingly. Interestingly, I can but on the two matters forego lighter than expected, especially since the grip is much higher and you can change the battery unscrew without the handle. Moreover, I win a Arca-Swiss profile and does not have even an extra use an appropriate disk or L-brackets for the X-T1. Indeed, the optical axis is marked accordingly on the handle.
The handle has a further bore down, if the tripod head has only one screw and one has mounted no quick release plate. The attachment of the handle via an Allen screw. The black and the texture of the handle are identical to the X-T1, so add a very harmonious. Finally, the move is also "rock solid" on the camera. Would it next time buy more as the VG-XT1, as it is much more compact as opposed to this, but the grip is increased much more.
The only (real) disadvantage is the inability even to supplement an Arca-Swiss profile for the portrait. Who needed this absolutely has to (costly) look at iShoot (inexpensive) or Really Right Stuff.
