Customer Review

.... Eric Clapton and the versatile, studied Winton Marsalis come
together to - surrounded by brilliant musicians - a firework of
traditional jazz to kindle, with some blues songs, Clapton
dominated. these guys (Victor Goines (cl), Marcus Printup (2.tp)
cris Crenshaw (tb, voc), Don Vappie (bj), Chris Stainton (keyb), Dan
never (p), Carlos Henriquez (b), Ali Jackson (dr)) you could tell the fun
to what they are doing to. between keyboards and piano was no battle,
rather, they complement each other perfectly.
The title "Layla" - from Marsalis to "honor" Clapton into the program
taken - came to a seemingly unique blend of pure blues and
trad-jazz swinger. All titles are interpreted as they are left alone
has not heard - modern, although oldtime and almost perfectly arranged.
Marsalis knows about the quality of his associates and has it precisely
so eingestzt. all sounded improvised on (`s phases
within a chorus also), but was perfect for a whole together
set. marsalis` classical experience.
and that Clapton did not appear as a foreign body here is his
thanking musical brilliance: his vocals fit the phrasing
perfect and he "scrubbed" temporarily his guitar as a jazz musician from
"At that time".
the aufteten of oldtimers Taj Mahal in "Corinne corina" and "Just A Closer
Walk With Thee "was an homage to the really old. He would be only
banjo to leave the hotel.
All in all - the dvd inclusive - this is a great, fun-making
Pack music! all buyers I guess only hear the cd and then the
fun with the live DVD correctly.
