########### Delivery, Delivery & Installation ###########
It is delivered in a huge Amazon box in which you could send loose 3 monitors. The actual packaging of Dell is entirely of cardboard, on deposits of Styrofoam was waived.
Supplied located next to the monitor or a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and a cable to the USB connectors on the computer to connect. The assembly of the stand is done by a simple click mechanism within seconds and the monitor ready for use immediately afterwards. The cable can be comfortably through the opening in the base pay back and also do not interfere with the good work.
Conclusion: Here Dell has done everything right 5 of 5 stars
########### ########### Connections
Actually, the main reason for me why my old monitors had to give was the lack of DisplayPort connections. This monitor offers several HDMI and DisplayPort connections, so you should be prepared for all eventualities. Thus, for example, a MacBook Pro and a desktop PC to connect at the same time (! = Use) and without expensive adapters.
Conclusion: A clear advantage for Dell U2312HM 5 of 5 stars
########### Appearance and operation ###########
Dell has in this model on wide margins (except for the lower edge) waived why one has virtually no borders in multimonitor operation. However, there they do, although the edge of the monitor is only about 1-2 mm big enough, the panel of the monitor is not quite to the edge. This then creates but a larger gap than expected. Between 2 monitors the black surface is then exactly 7mm, still very little compared to other monitors but visible and not invisible as advertised.
But now I come to one of my criticisms of this model, the keys. Dell uses touchscreen keys here. Unfortunately, completely without light, so you have to try once and is now used which key. However, it is his monitor usually yes only once, so this drawback for most people should be negligible. The menu is based on German and set clear and structured way so that even lay people should get along with the device.
########### The Image ###########
In direct comparison to Dell U2312HM I would argue that the image quality is virtually identical. However, the known with IPS monitors glitter was reduced at the brighter picture areas to a minimum and now is hardly or not at all on. A clear advantage in comparison. Also, I can say with my two monitors no hum, what the U2312HM often was indeed the case. In terms Bilqualität remains in my view so (thankfully) everything as it was, or even improved. The exact details and measurements can safely assess other reviewers better.
########### ########### Conclusion
Dell has done it again and brought a 218 (March 2014) in this segment relatively inexpensive monitor to the market of well to meet nearly every need until the 4K interspersed technology and also on the desktop market is affordable. Who does not rely on a VGA connector and can live with the small drawbacks for the Dell U2414H is certainly a great monitor!
Overall I give 4.5 out of 5 stars
