No doubt the darkest book of Pierre Lemaitre. Less subtle for me Alex, but devilishly effective. Always the direct style, without complacency, without verbiage, no frills or digressions. The story, cruel desire, is a slow descent into hell. We are afraid to guess the outcome, one wonders if the author or dare not go that far or if it's just fun to ride around ... that's the question! A disturbing thriller to recommend to lovers of true black books and not for the faint hearted because I think some scenes may cause real discomfort. To be reserved for those who are not afraid to look bad in front ;-)
