I have brought with me the 17-85mm lens after much consideration and studying countless journals now the EOS 60D. The lens I have deliberately chosen because it covers all the important basic disciplines with its focal length. Can advise you only so-called "travel lenses" which offer a focal length of 15 to 200 mm and more, as the then expected image quality significantly decreases. Then to buy rather later a good telephoto, because you have more of it clearly. The camera takes very good shots and provides for enthusiastic amateur photographers all the features you need and then some. The bulk of the buyers of this camera are its potential can probably exploit little more than halfway. Really liked with the 360 ° swivel display, which (directly overhead or at ground level) is just very helpful when shooting in unfavorable situations. I'm not a big fan of Live View functions, so I do not mind the lame focus in this function and the slightly higher dropout mirroring of the display as well. In the classic viewfinder, so the way you should take pictures with an SLR too, the focus is fast and incredibly accurate. Why other customers complain about the lack of readjustment to me is not entirely clear, because it sharper than sharp eh not go. The video function is in the 60D is not really the screamer. The housing makes a very high-quality impression. The camera is expected to be no lightweight, but can be still very good with the right hand safely and quietly hold. All in all a wonderful camera for the amateur photographer. Anyone who wants to take pictures only in automatic mode, should pick up the cheaper three-digit models prefer, but who also would like to work creatively, is well served in my opinion with the 60D. And if the prices continue to fall so you are stupid if you do not access ;-)
