Opinion
The writing style of the book reminded me of duct forth much of a fairy tale which of course also super fit to the content, which is also very magical. However, for me was a little the weakness of the story. After all it bothered me that much seemed childishly naive to me. To give an example: direct in the first chapters of the heroine is introduced as the leader of a spy ring operating in all seven kingdoms, which ensures justice. I can even imagine quite well. But that seems to know all the helpers to innkeepers that the manager is but all the kings do not know this! then did not seem very plausible to me. A further point was that I missed real villains. Most of the characters seemed to me simply harmless. Even the antagonist of the story impressed me not too, for all his evil deeds. Instead, there were a lot of people with a good heart. Therefore, these and other reasons, it seemed to me as if the story of a very talented teenager and has not been written by an adult woman. I think this is a point that everyone feels differently severe in itself, but it prevented me from exploring completely in the world of Seven Kingdoms.
The focus of the story is mainly due to two characters. The focus of course is Katsa which is accompanied throughout by the narrative, which is characterized by a rather unique way. I found it relatively difficult to be really hot with her because she was so far and yet so close sometimes a hand in their mindset. Unlike, however, the whole story would not have worked. Your rather sober way the world to look at is also reflected in the way the story again. Overall, a strong heroine who also offers quite a lot of potential for identification with which I nevertheless could not identify me. Quite different Po. In English Po Bo is what certainly was not a bad renaming notably because of the Po associations. He shows his emotions and feelings quite openly, so it is much more accessible than Katsa. Together they make a great couple, which does not precipitately forms, but there is slow. The other characters are indeed designed lovable, but remain up to Princess Bitterblue quite pale.
The story was almost pleasant, there were no sprawling scenes and passages in which nothing happens, were gathered consistently. Also there was the one or other surprise. However, the real action, I felt as though quite interesting, but relatively predictable. Anyone who reads the text carefully, suspects early where things are headed eventually. It should be mentioned that I have read quite exactly one month to the story. The story was not as tough or boring, but outside of my special reading times I did not take the book in hand. However, despite all the criticisms now was Graceling for me a beautiful story. After all, the basic idea with the recipient has a voice Touch Fantasy awarded the world, without any special creatures and other magic. I'm excited about the two other books that also play in the seven kingdoms.
Conclusion
A fairytale fantasy, but to me childishly naive seemed a little and therefore probably held me a little at a distance.
