After my predecessor told that his comment is quality, I just post my own thinking about this novel by Chris Womersley. Came across this author and title I did not know before, I must admit I was not disappointed; a "road book" that reads happy (although like my colleague, I find the scene unnecessarily raw horse). The story so ... Lee, a small small-time hoodlum, half dead, a bullet lodged somewhere in his body. Wild, an addict doctor fugitive from justice in his country. An unlikely pair eventually fatal form; for better or for worse. The best being the hope of finding one (impossible) "Promised Land" elsewhere, somewhere; the worst being a past and a present deleterious who do not deign to let these two quiet and free vagabonds. The worst being also Josef, former mentor Lee, determined to find the young thug ... His life also depends. The young thug in question has disappeared ... a suitcase full of money in his possession.
