I have pre-ordered Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5's' new album directly, because I have the 1st now handled already in his previous two albums so and the pre-orders have never proven to be a mistake and 2. Deadmau5 his new album "While (1 After initial Through listening to the album I have to say that the album is quite different than expected. After the two pre-releases "Phantoms Can not Hang" and "Avaritia" I personally have not counted on so many experimental things so not the classic Deadmau5 sound of "Random Album Title", "For Lack Of A Better Name ", etc correspond. Although it was "Gula" already heard previously on SoundCloud, but I would have thought that this track is the only "experimental" on the album remains so little piano and more Electro-Chords à la "RAT" & "FLOABN". "Gula" is nonetheless an awesome song and one of my favorites. Only there is just some more tracks in this slower, quieter kind, such as Coelacanth I + II, Invidia, Silent Picture and much more, where Deadmau5 fully dispense with the dance elements and shows what he as a composer may with piano and guitar. I find this very bold, because I think that no one has really expected and many might be disappointed.
But would not Deadmau5 Deadmau5 when the "crowd pleaser" (as he calls himself) would dispense. "Pets" and "My Pet Coelacanth", and "Phantoms Can not Hang" remember already more like the old Deadmau5 sound of "4x4 = 12" or "For Lack Of A Better Name". He satisfied (as announced in his comment) his own artistic needs and tries to satisfy the needs of Deadmau5 fans. Whether he creates the latter entirely to be seen, because this album is really a matter of taste ... and type-dependent. Anyway, I find it extremely courageous and totally sympathetic that he did not use the "EDM-hype-train" pops open like any other simple-minded house producers today.
My personal conclusion: My first questions expectations that involved more the sound of his previous albums were not met in this regard, but I think "while (1
