The first of the series of Wallander. The story is well put together, it is with KNOWLEDGE Kurt Wallander, her personal problems very grounded in reality (divorce, a father who loses his head, the change of the company ...). The aspect "police inquiry" is very well made, sometimes too and it gives rise to some lengths. Probably not the best but Mankell to read because it is still a good thriller and it is the figures for the volumes to follow. Mankell is very far from the American thrillers and that's just fine.
