Christopher Moore chose to combine in this account three major works of classical literature two of Shakespeare (The Merchant of Venice, Othello), an Edgar Allan Poe (The Cask of Amontillado). The exercise was risky, we can say that had the merit of trying. Where the previous work was innovative (read Fool), it is more laborious and at times lack of pace: the story struggling to take off, the author seems to hesitate too often of classic narrative and drama The sequences of situations are at times difficult and characters lack density. Only the last third of the story catches up with the sauce which was definitely hard to take.
Too bad.
