This is not a vacuum but a sweeper, it works fine for me on polished wooden floors covered with dog's hairs and cleared 90% of the hair within 1hr (for 5 rooms total 80sqm) but I would be skeptical of results on carpets (even the Handbook says so)
We decided for the 8845 instead of the 8855 on price and requirements. The only real difference is the fact 8845 has 2 anti-collision Towers (8845 only 1). Despite the misinformation on Samsung's website it does automatically return to dock when done or low on batteries, but you can not program a weekly schedule as with the 8855. Basically you press start and leave it to it (you can delay the start by up to 23 hours .)
I watched it the first few times, got jammed under the toilet so this accommodation out of bounds, got stuck on a step so have had to implement the anti-collision tower. The trick I found is to make surethat the docking position is conducive to the room / house layout as it did set off in the right direction and pattern. To get good results you have to put chairs on tables and the floor clear of articles (but That should be expected as you do this anyway When You no vacuum?)
All in all, currently impressed with it ... I'll report back after some time.
