Vinyl & Content:
The 42-minute album fit on a vinyl, but still a high quality gatefold cover emerges. The cover page is hardcovered and next to the heavyweight vinyl is a download voucher for the .mp3 Verison included. Furthermore, there is a aufschlagbares sheet with the lyrics and the participating artists. The sound quality of the record is great, but another one may not expect from Jack White and his record label Third Man Records! The album was planned by White as vinyl album and it shows!
Music:
Only in a few places (eg Track 2: "Sixteen Saltines"), the White-Stripes influences find. "Blunderbuss" is a blues album and one should rather geared to the Raconteurs. Some songs sound like from the 50 / 60s, is found in almost all the songs piano and / or strings and support you is to "Take Me With You When You Go" entertained by "Missing Pieces" at a high level.
Conclusion:
For me, this album (along with "Blues Funeral" by Mark Lanegan, the best album of the year and I am delighted that I have tickets for one of his gigs Germany (end of June - early July).
