In the same situation that the author (an Australian living in France with French) I could not help but read and reread this book. That "French" or not, there is much truth in this book - yes, there are stereotypes, yes there are generalizations, but because of "our side," seen what a who is not French, stereotypes and generalizations are often true, are encountered in everyday life. The reading will understand a little, reputation as the French, and understand why it's reputation was acquired. For the French who live dan a mixed couple, this book can be revealing - my friend understands me better now, know that my frustrations are not for personal idiosyncrasies, but revealing a real culture difference, a difference that in been told with humor and candor by the author. Do not hesitate.
