Seth Grahame-Smith presents in his book "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" an alternate version of the Lincoln biography. Again, Lincoln is portrayed as one of the most important presidents of the United States, but also as one of the most influential vampire hunter of his time.
Even in childhood, the life of the young Lincoln is influenced heavily by the influence of vampires in the fledgling United States.
This influence pursues Seth Grahame-Smith based long-lost secret diaries Lincoln. Practically from birth Lincoln until his death.
Throughout the book it is clear that ... the history of the United States was heavily influenced and partly determined by vampires (and is?) ... The war between the North and the South was a war against the vampires ... Lincoln not only was a way with words, but also was quick in the matter, if one or the other vampire had to be beheaded ...
Seth Grahame-Smith's book is written an entertaining and intelligent. On the basis of an exciting upbeat lead author of his readers in the history of the (alleged) secret Lincoln Diaries a. Builds the basis of extracts from the memoirs Lincols Grahame-Smith on his story. Soon we know not what is now fact, what is fiction. Will support all (very appropriate) through historical photos (which, as one learns the end of the book indirectly, probably "photogeshoppt" were). A comparison with the originals would be interesting here.
"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is an innovative and truly successful attempt to breathe the Vampire genre by linking with historical events new life. In addition to the tension that has certainly also (indirect) education content: Hardly any reader (perhaps real authority on the subject) will be able to distinguish what is true and what is not for now. Consequently expected in one or the other readers are one of the next books a Lincoln biography on the Literature menu. Maybe that's right but more than you think ... ;-)
